Located on Hudson’s charming downtown on Main Street, the historic "Old Church on the Green" has been a beloved venue for over 1,500 weddings, celebrations, and special events. This beautiful church, set against the picturesque backdrop of Hudson’s town square, offers a unique setting steeped in history and elegance.
Built in 1860, the church was a significant stop on the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. The sanctuary features six original stained glass windows and a choir balcony with a stunning bird’s-eye view, making it an ideal space for intimate ceremonies, seating up to 175 guests comfortably.
For outdoor ceremonies, the nearby gazebo in the town square can be available for bookings, providing a memorable space just steps away from the church.

Larry is licensed as the minister of the Spiritual Life Society. It is not an internet ministry. He has earned the equivalent of a Masters of Divinity and has led Sunday services at the church at 1 East Main Street, Hudson since 1978. Larry has performed over 2500 weddings of all faiths and denominations. He is also a Professor of World Religion at Kent State University where his Intro to World Religion class is one of the most popular on campus. Larry has an extensive meeting with every couple, giving them lots of choices and guidance regarding vows, readings, blessings, rituals, etc. It can be as religious, spiritual or generic as you would like. He will be with you from start to finish. And he looks great in your pictures.
Pricing: Suggested donation price is $300-$400 sliding scale. We appreciate more for those who can afford it and work,with those on a limited budget.

10% off for those that rent the church and use Vince’s services.
Pricing to rent the church:
$1200 to rent the church for 4 hours. $150/each additional hour after that. There are no extra fees for set up and tear down time. If you’re enjoying your reception at the church, there may be some additional fees incurred for set up and clean up, depending. $200 non refundable deposit due to reserve the date, full amount due a month in advance. Refundable less of 20% cancellation fee up to two weeks ahead of time.

Can we have our reception at the church ?
Yes! The church is set up to accommodate both ceremony and reception. The pews are on wheels so they can be easily rolled to the side of the room to accommodate a dance party. The large stage can be used for a DJ or live band. Downstairs we have tables and chairs & a half kitchen (sink and fridge). For a meal we recommend buffet style catering or potluck.
Can we serve alcohol?
Sure can. We have relationships with local breweries, distribution centers and a sommelier. If you’d like any direction please ask. We also have bartenders for hire if you need one.
